Dr. Jacob Sorensen is a resident physician in the Anatomic and Clinical Pathology Residency Program at Michigan Medicine, University of Michigan. He earned both his MD and PhD from the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine, completing his dual-degree program in 2023. His clinical training at the University of Michigan began in July 2023 and is scheduled to continue through 2026. During his time as a medical and graduate student, his research focused on areas such as the hepatitis B virus and the development of diagnostic tools. He is one of several residents in the university’s pathology department and specifically matched into the Clinical Pathology track. His professional interests involve global health and the creation of affordable diagnostic technologies for underserved populations.
