Dr. Ibrahim Khalifeh, MD, is the Chief of Anatomic Pathology and a Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University. He joined Temple Health in July 2024, overseeing major sections including surgical pathology, cytopathology, and dermatopathology to deliver patient care based on best practices. He is triple board-certified by the American Board of Pathology in anatomic and clinical pathology, cytopathology, and dermatopathology.
Dr. Khalifeh earned his medical degree from Damascus University in 1999 and completed initial training at the American University of Beirut Medical Center. He later completed a residency at Wayne State University and prestigious fellowships in oncologic pathology and cytopathology at MD Anderson Cancer Center, followed by a dermatopathology fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Before his current role, he served as a professor at the American University of Beirut for over two decades and worked as a pathology consultant and medical director in Cincinnati. Throughout his career, he has received numerous honors, including the Papanicolaou Society of Cytopathology Award and the Lebanese Presidential Award for Community Service.
